The Wohl Room is the largest event space within the National Gallery. Your dinner guests will be surrounded by the Gallery's beautiful collection of Venetian Renaissance paintings and is lavishly decorated with green damask walls and a spectacular glass roof that soars above.

Frequently asked questions

Dry venue hire starts from £18,000 + VAT, which includes the venue, an event manager, security, first aid, and cleaning/porter teams. Catering, production, florist, and entertainment are additional costs provided through accredited suppliers only.

No, all catering, production, florist, and entertainment must be provided through The National Gallery's accredited suppliers. You must select from their approved supplier list and cannot bring in external vendors.

Events cannot be hosted on Fridays as the gallery is open to the public until 21:00. Evening events typically start from 18:45/19:00 and run until 22:00 or 23:00 depending on the package, with extensions available until 02:00 at £2,000 + VAT per hour.

Yes, standing receptions cost £18,000 + VAT for three-hour hire (18:45/19:00 – 22:00), while seated dinners cost £20,000 + VAT for four-hour hire (18:45/19:00 – 23:00). Some smaller spaces like the Yves Saint Laurent room start from £10,000 + VAT for up to 60 people.

Daytime spaces are currently under major capital refurbishment and will not be available until September 2025, with new meeting spaces opening for bookings in Autumn 2025. Only evening hire from 18:45 is currently available.

New Year's Eve is unavailable due to Trafalgar Square celebrations and road closures preventing supplier access. November dates are typically heavily booked, and the venue frequently has limited availability during peak periods.

The National Gallery cannot host ticketed events as per their gallery policy. All events must be private hire only, and guests cannot purchase tickets for entry.

Exhibition access at The National Gallery is an exclusive benefit of Corporate Support only. You must contact the Corporate Team separately to arrange private exhibition viewings, as this is not included in standard venue hire.

After receiving a quote, you must arrange a site visit to view the spaces. Once the site visit is completed, your event date can be placed on hold while you finalize arrangements.
