What are the minimum spend requirements for private hire at The Prince?

The Loft (third floor private room) requires a £2,500+VAT minimum spend on Saturdays, £1,000+VAT on Fridays, and £500+VAT on Sundays. The Games Room (second floor) has a £2,500+VAT minimum spend. The garden area for up to 40 guests requires a £7,500+VAT minimum spend with 7.5% service charge. All minimum spends must be met through bar sales only - food purchases and drinks bought elsewhere in the venue do not count toward the minimum.

What are the capacity limits for different spaces at The Prince?

The Loft accommodates up to 60-80 guests (capacity varies by source), The Games Room holds up to 60 people with mixed seated and standing arrangements, and the garden area can host up to 40 guests. The maximum group size offered on Saturdays is 40 guests, with no private hire available for larger Saturday events.

What are the age restrictions and dress code policies?

The venue operates a 21+ policy on Fridays after 6pm and Saturdays after 3pm, with valid photo ID required under a Challenge 25 policy. Saturdays require smart, chic and elegant dress code. Last entry is at 10pm on these restricted days, and bookings are only held for 20 minutes before being offered to walk-in guests.

What are the venue's opening hours and closing times?

The venue closes at 11pm with the bar closing at 10:30pm. Private spaces like The Loft are available exclusively from 5pm until close. A late license until 1am is available for an additional £500+VAT fee.

How much does it cost to bring your own DJ or use the venue's sound system?

You can bring your own DJ for £250+VAT, or the venue can organize a DJ for £500+VAT. There's also a £500+VAT fee to use the onsite DJ equipment. The venue has an in-house sound system available for playing music such as Spotify playlists.

What is the deposit and cancellation policy?

The full minimum spend must be pre-paid to secure the space, but can be refunded post-event if the minimum is reached. For cancellations: over 30-60 days before booking receives full deposit refund, within 30-60 days receives 50% refund, and within 3-14 days forfeits the entire deposit. You can move your booking to another date within the same calendar year free of charge with 2 weeks' notice.

What food options are available and do they count toward minimum spend?

The venue has 3 on-site food vendors offering various cuisines, with food vouchers available for £15 per person. Guests can order food from any trader delivered straight to the table. However, food sales do not contribute to your minimum spend requirement - only bar sales count toward the minimum.

Are there any restrictions on event types or Saturday bookings?

The venue does not offer private hire on Saturdays for large events, and does not accept promoted or ticketed events. Saturday walk-ins pay an £8 per person entry fee from 7pm. The venue operates strict 21+ policies on weekend evenings and maintains the right to refuse entry.

What facilities and amenities are included in private hire?

Private spaces include their own bars, dedicated floor and bar staff, flexible furniture arrangements, and entertainment facilities.
