What are the minimum spend requirements for private hire of The Prince's event spaces?

The Loft (third floor) requires a £2,500+VAT minimum spend on Saturdays, £1,000+VAT on Fridays, and £500+VAT on Sundays. The Games Room (second floor) has a £2,500+VAT minimum spend. The Garden area requires £7,500+VAT minimum spend with 7.5% service charge. All minimum spends must be met through bar sales only - food purchases and drinks bought elsewhere in the venue do not count toward the minimum.

What are the capacity limits for each private event space?

The Loft accommodates up to 60-80 guests (capacity varies by source), The Games Room holds up to 60 guests for mixed seated and standing, and the Garden area can host up to 40 guests for group bookings or up to 450 guests for semi-exclusive hire. The maximum group size offered on Saturdays is 40 guests.

What are the age restrictions and dress code policies?

The venue operates a 21+ policy on Fridays after 6pm and Saturdays after 3pm, with valid photo ID required under Challenge 25 policy. Saturdays require smart, chic and elegant dress code. Last entry is at 10pm on these restricted days. No private hire is available on Saturdays due to these policies.

What are the venue's operating hours and closing times?

The venue closes at 11pm with the bar closing at 10:30pm. Private spaces like The Loft are available exclusively from 5pm until close. Late license until 1am is available for an additional £500+VAT fee.

How does the deposit and payment system work?

The full minimum spend must be pre-paid to secure the space. This deposit is refunded post-event if the minimum spend is reached on the night. If not reached, the difference is claimed from your deposit and the remainder refunded. A discretionary 12.5% service charge is added to the final bill.

What is the cancellation policy for private bookings?

Cancellation terms vary by source: some quotes show over 30 days = full refund, within 30 days = 50% refund, within 3 days = forfeit deposit. Other quotes show over 60 days = full refund, within 60 days = 50% refund, within 14 days = forfeit deposit. Bookings can be moved to another date within the same calendar year free of charge with 2 weeks' notice.

What entertainment and DJ options are available?

You can bring your own DJ for an additional £250+VAT, or the venue can organize a DJ for £500+VAT. The venue has an in-house sound system for playing music like Spotify playlists. Onsite DJ equipment usage costs £500+VAT. You are welcome to play your own music within the private spaces.

What food and catering options are provided?

Guests can order food from rotating street food traders delivered to tables, with bespoke drinks packages available. Food vouchers are offered at £15 per person for street food vendors. The venue does not offer bottle service menus, though bottles may occasionally be purchased at the venue's discretion.

Are there restrictions on what types of events can be held?

The venue does not accept promoted events or ticketed events. No private hire is available on Saturdays. The venue has strict policies against certain event types and reserves the right to decline bookings that don't fit their operational model.

What booking procedures and timing requirements apply?

Bookings are held for a maximum of 20 minutes before being offered to other guests. Parties must arrive at their stated booking time or join the walk-in queue. An £8 per person entry fee applies from 7pm on Saturdays for walk-in guests. The venue requires 2 weeks' notice for any booking changes.
