Located on the second floor, the Council Room features Edwardian styled antique oak panelling and an ornate plaster ceiling. One of our larger rooms, the Council room is a flexible space and can be arranged in a variety of layouts. It is also a popular room for Drinks Receptions, Dinners, Meetings, Lectures and Workshops. A registration table and a coat rail are available outside the room.



Frequently asked questions

The Council Room costs £1,650 (VAT exempt) for full day hire from 8:30am to 5:30pm. Half day hire is £980 (VAT exempt) for either morning (8:30am to 1pm) or afternoon (2pm to 5:30pm) slots. Evening hire from 6:30pm to 10pm is also £1,650 (VAT exempt), with time extensions available at additional cost.

The Council Room accommodates up to 24 guests in boardroom style, 30 in hollow square, 40 guests in cabaret style, or 60 guests in theatre style. All layouts include space inside the room for catering needs. The space features Edwardian styled oak panelling and is located on the second floor with natural light.

AV equipment includes: Full Hybrid package with 85" screen, HD camera, sound and microphones for £275; 85" screen and soundbar only for £165; Laptop for £66; Lectern for £22; Flipchart(s) for £22 each. All AV packages include technical support from a specialized technician on the day, and all AV prices are subject to VAT.

All catering is provided by Company of Cooks, their approved in-house supplier, who provides bespoke quotes based on requirements and budget. Guests can go off-site for meals, but cannot bring outside food back into the venue. All catering prices are subject to VAT.

A registration table and coat rail are available outside the Council Room. The space is located on the second floor and offers natural light through its windows.

For 48 people dining, the Council Room becomes full of tables with no space for drinks or dancing. The venue recommends considering larger spaces like the Library (£3,500 VAT exempt) or Marble Hall & Gallery (£3,000 VAT exempt) for events requiring both dining and reception space for 50+ guests.

The venue takes bookings up to 12 months ahead. Initial enquiries can be made via email to enquiries@onebirdcagewalk.com or by calling 0207 973 1248. Provisional holds can be placed on dates while clients finalize details, and contracting begins once clients are ready to confirm.

The venue is not usually open on weekends, requiring minimum weekend hire charges of £6,000 (VAT exempt) for 8-hour access. The venue can decline bookings that are very last minute and low budget. Standard weekday operations run from 8:30am, with evening events possible until 10pm with extensions available.

The venue offers a Full Hybrid package with 85" screen, HD camera, sound and microphones for £275 (plus VAT). For more complex live streaming requirements, clients can use their own preferred supplier or check availability with the venue's preferred supplier, though third-party AV suppliers must schedule site visits and provide proper certifications.
