Frequently asked questions

Evening hire rates are £6,500+VAT for drinks receptions and £7,000+VAT for events like yoga sessions or corporate gatherings. Full day hire is £11,000+VAT, though reduced rates may be available for single gallery use or half-day bookings. All prices include venue supervisor, gallery staff, one security guard, two parking spaces, delivery permits, and use of furniture and technical equipment.

The venue can accommodate up to 350 people standing for drinks receptions across all three galleries. For smaller corporate events of around 35 people, the East Gallery is recommended. The venue offers over 450sqm of dedicated events space with flexible use of three interconnected galleries.

All clients must use one of Mall Galleries' approved caterers, with catering costs separate from hire fees. If you wish to use an external caterer not on their approved list, there is a mandatory £500+VAT buy-out fee. Catering is arranged directly with the chosen caterer and is not included in venue hire costs.

Mall Galleries has very limited daytime availability due to public exhibitions. They currently have no remaining daytime availability for the remainder of 2024, with next available blank canvas daytime hire slots in February and August 2025. Evening hire has better availability as events can take place with exhibitions as backdrops.

Most evening events take place with current exhibitions serving as backdrops, which is included in the standard hire fee. For filming or events requiring blank canvas space, these must occur outside opening hours (before 10am or after 5pm) and availability is extremely limited.

The hire fee includes a small stage, two roving microphones, adjustable lighting, AV and audio facilities, free WiFi, cloak rails, and a lectern. You also get a venue supervisor, gallery staff, one security guard (5 hours included), two parking spaces outside 17 Carlton House Terrace, and parking permits for deliveries along the Mall.

Booking timelines vary significantly based on availability, with some clients needing to confirm venues before specific deadlines (such as August 25th for events later in the year). The venue has extremely limited availability, particularly for daytime blank canvas hire, so early booking is essential.

The venue is open to the public from 10am to 5pm, so any filming or blank canvas events must take place outside these hours. Evening events typically run until late (midnight or 1am possible), and setup times can be arranged. For multi-day events, build days can be scheduled before live event days.

The booking process involves initial availability checks, site visits if needed, and confirmation of dates. Due to high demand and limited availability, alternative venue suggestions may be provided if dates are unavailable.
