The glass-roofed Atrium of the Goldsmiths' Centre is a grand architectural statement combining the old architecture of a Victorian Board School with a contemporary award-winning building. Standard time slots are: Full day (8:30am-5:00pm), Half day (8:30am-12:30pm or 1:00pm-5:00pm), and Evening (6:00pm-10:45pm). Events can extend beyond these hours at £250 + VAT per additional hour, and organizers can access the space from 8:30am.
Is external catering allowed and what are the catering restrictions?
External catering is not permitted due to an exclusivity contract with the venue's caterers. All food and drinks must be provided through The Goldsmiths' Centre's catering team, though they can accommodate various dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other special needs.
What AV equipment is included and what are the additional costs?
Full use of AV equipment is included in room hire, featuring state-of-the-art, user-friendly equipment with strong Wi-Fi throughout the building. The Exhibition Room has a built-in PA system, and standard equipment includes screens, projectors, clickers, HDMI cables, and flipcharts.
What is the payment structure and when are invoices due?
A deposit invoice is required before the event takes place, with invoices payable within 30 days unless the event occurs within 30 days of the invoice date. Separate purchase orders are needed for deposit and final invoices.
Can alcohol be brought to events and what are the options for spirits?
You can bring your own bottles with a corkage fee of £50 + VAT per bottle, or the venue can provide spirits through their catering service. Standard drinks packages include wine, beer, and soft drinks, with spirits available as add-ons.
Is there outdoor space available for guests during events?
The venue does not have any private outdoor space available for guests. All event activities must take place within the indoor spaces of The Goldsmiths' Centre.
How far in advance must final event details be confirmed?
Final event details including catering requirements, dietary needs, and guest numbers must be confirmed by 4:00pm the day before your event at the latest. Late dietary requirements can sometimes be accommodated but should be avoided.
