Mall Galleries

Evening hire rates are £6,500+VAT for drinks receptions and £7,000+VAT for events like yoga sessions or product launches. Full day hire is £11,000+VAT, with reduced rates available for single gallery hire or half-day bookings. All rates include venue supervisor and gallery staff, one security guard (5 hours), two parking spaces outside 17 Carlton House Terrace, parking permits for deliveries along the Mall, and use of furniture and technical equipment including small stage, two roving microphones, adjustable lighting, AV facilities, and free WiFi.

The East Gallery can accommodate up to 350 people standing for drinks receptions across all three galleries. For smaller events of 35 people, the East Gallery alone is recommended. The venue offers over 450sqm of dedicated events space total, making it suitable for intimate gatherings to larger corporate events.

Daytime hire availability is extremely limited, with no remaining daytime slots for the remainder of 2024 and very limited availability in 2025. Events during exhibition periods must work around public opening hours (10am-5pm), with filming restricted to before 10am or after 5pm. The venue operates with ongoing exhibitions that serve as backdrops to events, so blank canvas hire is only available on specific dates in February and August 2025.

All clients must use one of Mall Galleries' approved caterers - catering is not included in hire fees and must be arranged directly with caterers. If you wish to use a caterer not on the approved supplier list, there is a mandatory £500+VAT buy-out fee. The venue provides access to sinks and electrical outlets for catering setup.

Availability is very limited, particularly for daytime events and blank canvas hire. The venue frequently has to decline bookings due to lack of availability, so early booking is essential. Site visits can be arranged to discuss requirements, and the venue aims to respond to enquiries promptly through their Gallery Hire Sales Manager.

The venue includes adjustable lighting, AV and audio facilities, free WiFi, in-house PA system, two roving microphones, and a lectern. There's a small stage available and cloak rails for events. The East Gallery features energy-efficient gallery lighting and Carriage House feature windows providing natural light.

Blank canvas hire is very limited, with next available dates only in February and August 2025. Most events take place with ongoing exhibitions as backdrops - for example, events might occur during the Royal Institute of Oil Painters exhibition or the Society of Botanical Artists exhibition. The venue will specify which exhibition will be running during your event dates.

The venue provides two parking spaces outside 17 Carlton House Terrace and parking permits for deliveries along the Mall. Setup times vary by event type - some events allow access from 2pm for evening events, while full day hires provide all-day access. The venue includes moveable sculpture walls and gallery benches that can be reconfigured for different layouts.

The venue is suitable for art exhibitions, product launches, press events, corporate hire, drinks receptions, and creative workshops. Events must work around public exhibition schedules when applicable. The venue can accommodate various setups including classroom-style arrangements, standing receptions, and exhibition displays with projector use available.

One security guard is included for 5 hours during events and can assist with guest lists and welcoming guests at the door. A venue supervisor and gallery staff are included in all hire packages. Additional security hours beyond the included 5 hours would incur extra charges.
