What are the minimum catering spends and package options?

Minimum catering spends vary by event: £250+VAT for small meetings, £3,500+VAT for larger events, £90+VAT per person for dinner packages (minimum 40 people). Day Delegate Rates start from £90-95+VAT per person including room hire, refreshments, lunch and AV. Wedding packages start at £170 per person for The Lavender Package including welcome drinks, canapés, three-course meal, wine and evening food truck.

Can I bring external caterers or suppliers?

External catering is not permitted due to exclusive contracts with in-house caterers. All food and beverage must be provided by BMA House's catering team. However, you can discuss specific dietary requirements and menu customizations with the venue's catering team.

What timing restrictions apply to different event types?

Garden events must end by 22:00 but can continue in the Garden Room until 23:00. Garden & Garden Room bookings are only available from 6:30pm-11pm for certain event sizes. Wedding venue hire typically runs 14:00-23:30 with earlier access for suppliers. Events requiring 5-6 hours setup time need to be discussed for availability.

What AV equipment and technical support is included?

Standard room hire includes data projector, screen, PA system with up to 3 microphones, flipchart, and technical support for setup. The Great Hall offers extensive AV including high-powered projector, 24-channel mixing desk, up to 9 microphones, staging, lighting, and full-day technical support. Events requiring heavy AV or more than 4 lapel mics need a second technician at £450+VAT per day.

How long can I hold a provisional booking and what are the booking deadlines?

Provisional bookings expire if not confirmed by specific dates - typically 10-14 days from initial quote. For example, enquiries must be confirmed by dates like "25th June" or "25th July" or they will be released from the system. Site visits can be arranged during the provisional hold period.

What are the response times and booking processes?

Initial enquiry responses are provided within 1-2 days due to high demand. The venue requires specific details including event timings, seating style, catering requirements, and AV needs before providing full proposals. Multiple follow-ups may be needed to gather complete event requirements.
