What is the maximum capacity for Studio Spaces Events space and are there different limits for different setups?
The Events space can accommodate 300-350 people seated or up to 300 people standing. The venue comprises three distinctive interconnected spaces across 743sqm, allowing for flexible layouts depending on your event format.
What are the daily hire rates and what time periods do they cover?
Daily hire fees start at £2,000 + VAT per day for an 8am-6pm period. For specific spaces, The Black Studio costs £3,500 + VAT, The Onyx Bar costs £1,500 + VAT (including staff and security), and The Warehouse costs £2,500 + VAT.
What audio-visual equipment is included in the hire fee?
The Black Studio includes a sound system, lighting, LED screen, and wired microphone. The Onyx Bar includes a large LED screen, PA system, and 2 wired mics, plus can provide a small stage. All spaces have advanced in-house audio-visual facilities with an in-house AV team available.
Can I bring my own catering or do you provide food services?
External catering is allowed and the venue does not provide in-house catering. They work with catering partners like Pique for light nibbles and can provide menus from their partners. You are welcome to bring in your own external caterer.
What bar services are available and how much do drinks cost?
The Black Studio has its own bar where guests can buy their own drinks. The Onyx Bar offers drinks tokens for beer/wine/soft drinks at £8.50 including VAT each. Full bar service is available across the venue.
Do you provide furniture and what additional items can be hired?
The venue does not have chairs in-house - these need to be hired externally via www.yahire.com. They can provide a working cloakroom and small stage for speakers when needed. All other furniture requirements need to be arranged separately.
What are the setup and breakdown time allowances?
Standard daily hire covers 8am-6pm, but extended access can be arranged. Setup and breakdown times are flexible and can be negotiated based on your event requirements, with some events having access from early morning until late evening.
Is the venue accessible and what transport links are available?
The venue has ground floor access and is located at 110 Pennington Street, E1W 2BB in the St Katherines Dock area. It's minutes from Wapping, Tower Hill and Shadwell stations, situated on a traditional cobbled street close to Tobacco Dock.
Do you offer charity rates or discounts for non-profit events?
The venue does consider charity rates for qualifying events. When enquiring about charity events, mention this specifically as they may offer discounted pricing for registered charities and non-profit organizations.
What are the booking and payment procedures?
