The Council Chamber is one of the large conference and event spaces at 12 Bloomsbury Square. It can cater for a wide variety of events from conferences and presentations to functions, receptions and seminars. It is able to have a maximum of 100 for a reception, 80 sat theatre style. The room can also be setup in 35 Boardroom, 55 Cabaret or 40 Classroom.

Frequently asked questions

Medium rooms cost £365 + VAT per day and accommodate various setups. Large rooms are £655 + VAT per day for up to 40 people in conference style. Premium Medium rooms cost £465 + VAT per day. The venue also offers smaller rooms for 10 people at £300 + VAT per day in boardroom style.

Hot buffet lunch requires a minimum order of 10 people at £25.95 per person + VAT, even if your group is smaller. Cold buffet lunch is £25.95 per person + VAT with no minimum stated. Unlimited tea, coffee and snacks cost £10.95 per person + VAT, and assorted pastries are £7.95 per person + VAT.

A presentation screen costs £50 + VAT. The in-house video conferencing package is £250 + VAT and includes HD camera, hub laptop, speakers, tabletop microphones, all-day tech support, and options for Zoom or Teams meetings. The presentation screen is charged separately from the video conferencing package.

Breakout rooms cost £300 + VAT for all-day access and can be used for private calls or as buffer rooms for hot food service. If you book a breakout room, you get private access to the courtyard area. The courtyard is not available on all dates.

Payment can be made over the phone on a scheduled call, or via bank transfer which may take up to 60 days to process. Card payments are sometimes unavailable due to technical issues. The venue will issue invoices and arrange payment calls on agreed dates.

You must complete and return a signed booking form to confirm your reservation. The venue can hold space in their calendar during the booking process. For corporate clients using procurement systems like Coupa, the venue will complete required supplier registration forms and provide company details including registration number 07057143.

Yes, additional items like flipcharts can be arranged with advance notice, even as late as the day before your event. The venue is responsive to last-minute equipment requests for confirmed bookings.

The venue has a microwave available but does not have an oven for warming food. If you need to warm food, you'll be limited to microwave-suitable items only.

Payment over the phone is not available on Wednesdays or Fridays. If your meeting falls on these days, alternative payment arrangements must be made in advance, such as bank transfer or payment on a different day.

The venue can get fully booked, particularly on popular dates like June 12th. They will ask if you're flexible with dates and can check alternative dates for availability. It's recommended to have backup dates when making inquiries.
