Frequently asked questions

Events in the Consort rooms and similar event spaces at the hotel have a finish time of 23:30pm. This applies to all events including private parties and corporate functions. Events cannot extend beyond this time.

The Business space is suitable for smaller meetings, presentations, private dining and board meetings. Based on booking patterns, it typically accommodates groups from 10-60 people depending on the layout required. Cabaret and classroom layouts are available for larger groups within this range.

The Business space comes with state-of-the-art audio visual equipment as standard. This includes screen, projector, lectern and microphone for presentations and meetings. The contemporary-meets-classic design supports modern AV technology requirements.

The venue can provide various catering options including tea/coffee with pastries/cookies, light lunch/sandwiches, and full dining experiences. They can accommodate dietary requirements including severe nut and shellfish allergies, coeliac, and vegetarian needs. Specific catering arrangements depend on group size and event type.

The venue allows external contractors for decoration and entertainment based on the Christmas party enquiries mentioning Casino Night, Murder Mystery themes, and decorating companies. However, specific approval processes and restrictions for external vendors are not detailed and would need to be confirmed during booking.

Events typically run during standard business hours from 08:30 to 17:00 for meetings and conferences. Evening events can start around 18:00 but must finish by 23:30pm. The venue does not accommodate events starting at midnight or very late hours.

Based on booking patterns, the venue receives enquiries for events 6-18 months in advance, with some corporate events booked over a year ahead. Popular dates and larger events require earlier booking, and the venue may not have availability for last-minute requests.

Budget requirements vary significantly by event type and size. Small workshops for 10-15 people typically require £400+ budgets, while larger corporate events for 100+ guests range from £2,500 to £70,000 depending on catering, accommodation, and entertainment requirements. Very low budgets (under £200) cannot typically be accommodated.
