Historic gallery space with Victorian charm, ideal for dinners and receptions amidst contemporary art.

Gallery 2 is the historic central reading room of the former Whitechapel Library.
This columned space with original Victorian brickwork, polished concrete floor and architectural light wells, is a stunning setting for dinners and drinks receptions.

Gallery 2 is also the commission space at the Whitechapel Gallery. This means that clients are offered the opportunity to entertain alongside new and critically acclaimed pieces of artwork, making for particularly memorable events.

Whitechapel Gallery 

A versatile gallery space for up to 200 guests, ideal for receptions and corporate events.


We are the perfect space for drinks and canapes receptions, product launches & more. The gallery floor allows around 60 people seated or up to 200 standing. 

Ideal for wine tastings, private/corporate drinks receptions, charity evenings, book launches and influencer events.  

We do not charge a corkage fee and have no tied caterers, so you are welcome to bring your own supplier or provide your own food and drinks.

There is a multi-story car park close by & limited free parking near the gallery after 6.30pm.

Bankside Gallery

There is ample space for filming and photography set-ups and undertakings. 
We often have a licensed professional photographer in to take pictures of our artworks and the space is perfect for such ventures. 
Additionally, we have had filming done at the gallery for example the BBC filmed and interviewed one of our artists in a segment which was very well done and received.

A versatile event space with a 360° digital ellipse, ideal for dinners and receptions for up to 600 guests.

The hall boasts a 360° digital ellipse and plasma screen which can display bespoke designs to complement and enhance your private dinner.  The in-house events team are extremely experienced and have all the facilities and contacts required to create inspired sit-down meals, buffets, canapé platters and banquets. 

The Entrance Hall is always hired with the the London Ellipse Hall to host up to 600 guests for dinner across 2 spaces.
