Frequently asked questions

Minimum spends vary significantly by day and time. Evening events require £20,000+ excluding VAT and service charge for July dates, with Saturday evenings at £30,000 and Sunday evenings reduced to £25,000. Breakfast events start from £500 including VAT (excluding 14% service charge) for up to 20 guests, while bar bookings require £4,000 including VAT (excluding 14% service charge) for up to 40 guests.

All bookings include an 18% total charge comprising 15% service charge plus 3% event management fee, applied to the minimum spend excluding VAT. Some smaller bookings may have 14% or 15% service charge only. These charges are mandatory and calculated on top of the minimum spend requirement.

Duck & Waffle exclusive hire accommodates 250 guests standing or 120 seated maximum. Bar bookings allow up to 40 people in a seated and standing mixture with a roped-off semi-private area. Private dining room seats up to 20 guests for breakfast events with a £500 minimum spend.

Evening events typically run 18:30 to midnight with setup access from 16:30. Bar bookings are available for up to 3 hours from booking time with option to extend. Breakfast events run 8:00-11:00am, and the venue operates a 2-month advance booking window for standard reservations.

Full minimum spend is required as deposit within 24 hours of booking confirmation. The venue operates a 7-day cancellation policy for group bookings and 14-day cancellation/postponement policy for private dining. All deposits are non-refundable within the cancellation period.

Yes, exclusive hire events incur additional charges for security and furniture removal, though specific amounts are not detailed in standard quotes. These are mandatory costs that apply on top of the minimum spend and service charges, and clients should request exact figures when booking.

The venue cannot host externally promoted ticketed events due to licensing restrictions - any ticketed events must be organized by Duck & Waffle directly. Duck & Waffle does not supply Halal meat but can provide vegetarian alternatives. All group bookings require pre-ordering of arrival drinks and canapés.

Standard bookings up to 2 months in advance can be made online, but event bookings require direct contact with the events team. Dates are only held upon specific request and are not automatically reserved during the enquiry process. The venue recommends site visits before booking, particularly for multi-room events.
