The Playroom, Shore & Ditch is a fantastic option for very large groups. With a capacity of up to 200 guests, this space is perfect for hosting large socials. This space includes our Private Room (The Playroom) as well as a large exclusive area just outside of the Private Room and has the following facilities:

Frequently asked questions

Private room minimum spends vary significantly by day: Tuesday £2,500 + VAT + 12.5% service charge, Wednesday £3,200 + VAT + 12.5% service charge, Thursday £4,200 + VAT + 12.5% service charge. For full venue hire, Monday evenings require £6,000 + VAT + 12.5% service charge, Tuesday £9,000, Wednesday £14,000, and Thursday £24,000. All minimum spends go entirely towards food, drinks, and activities with no separate venue hire fee.

The private room accommodates up to 70 delegates in theatre style, 36 in cabaret style, or 28 in boardroom setup for meetings. For social events, the private room holds up to 100 standing guests, while The Shore and Ditch area accommodates 90 guests with ping pong tables. The mainspace can handle up to 200 delegates in theatre style or 60 in cabaret for conferences.

Half-day delegate packages cost £46 per person (ex VAT) and include either arrival breakfast or grazing lunch, 1 snack break, unlimited teas/coffees/juices/water, room hire, and AV equipment. Full-day packages cost £59 per person (ex VAT) and include arrival breakfast, grazing lunch, 2 snack breaks, unlimited beverages, room hire, and AV equipment. Minimum 30 delegates for private room conferences, 120 for mainspace conferences.

Events can typically run from 9am onwards, but the venue opens to the public at 2pm on Thursdays, so conferences must end by 1pm or pay additional fees to extend opening hours. Late-night events may be possible until 2am but not until 5am as sometimes requested. The venue is strictly over 18s only.

A 25% non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of the minimum spend is required to confirm bookings. The final balance is due no later than 14 days prior to the event date and becomes non-refundable and non-transferable at that point. For bookings made within 14 days, full payment is required immediately.

All spaces include projector screens, 2 handheld microphones, lectern, complimentary Wi-Fi, TV screens for branding with company logos, and options to play your own music or use Bounce playlists. The private room also has karaoke facilities and UV lighting. No additional AV hire costs are mentioned for standard equipment.

The private room (Playroom) includes 2 ping pong tables and 1 Ping Pong X table (high-tech interactive version). The Shore and Ditch area has 2 ping pong tables and 2 high-tech ping pong tables. Full venue hire includes unlimited access to 10+ ping pong tables, classic beer pong, and Ping Pong X tables throughout the booking.

Furniture hire costs around £800 + VAT for larger conferences (may be waived for smaller private room bookings). Games Gurus entertainment facilitators cost £5 per person. DJ services start from £250 (date dependent). Chair hire fees may apply for full venue events due to limited seating. Photobooth and other entertainment options are available at additional cost.

The minimum spend acts as a pre-paid amount that goes entirely towards food, drinks, and activities - there's no separate venue hire fee. You can convert it into group packages or use it as a bar tab. If you don't reach the minimum spend on the day, the difference is kept from your deposit. If you exceed it, you pay the additional amount.
