Located on the ground floor, the Court Room at Carpenters’ Hall is perfectly suited to smaller dinners, board meetings, and as a conference breakout space.

The centrepiece of the room is the magnificent octagonal oak table, dating from 1606 – an enduring piece of furniture that has occupied pride of place in each of the three iterations of Carpenters’ Hall.




Frequently asked questions

There is a minimum spend of £2,000 excluding VAT on catering plus venue hire. This minimum applies to all events and makes the venue unsuitable for smaller gatherings that cannot meet this threshold.

Hall hire costs £3,000 plus VAT for exclusive use. For Christmas events, venue hire ranges from £3,000-£3,500 plus VAT depending on timing, with exclusive use typically from 4:00pm-11:30pm or 6:00pm-11:30pm.

Christmas packages range from £115-£168 per person excluding VAT, including 3-course dinner, drinks, and venue elements. Canapes cost £25-£45 per person (4-8 pieces), with additional canapes at £8 per item. Drinks packages cost £45 per person for 3 hours unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks with a minimum of 55 guests required.

The venue can accommodate up to 200 guests for seated dinners and receptions. For conferences, theatre-style seating supports up to 100 guests, while cabaret-style setup accommodates 70-75 people. The space includes multiple rooms across two floors for flexible event layouts.

Basic AV package includes PA system, stage, lectern, microphones, screen and projector. This is typically included with venue hire for larger events. Additional technical requirements may incur extra costs, and in-house technical support is available.

Most events run from 17:30/18:00 to 23:00/23:30 for evening functions. Conference and meeting timings are more flexible, typically 8:00am-17:00. Exclusive venue hire periods vary but commonly include foyer, luncheon room and courtroom access.

The venue is not suited to small events due to the £2,000 minimum catering spend requirement. The space is designed for larger corporate events, conferences, dinners and receptions rather than intimate gatherings of fewer than 50-60 people.

All prices quoted are excluding VAT (20% additional). Christmas events may include complimentary canapes if booked early. Manned cloakroom, table decorations, and entertainment can be arranged as additional services with separate pricing.

Christmas packages include exclusive venue hire, 3-course dinner with tea/coffee and petit fours, drinks package (1.5 glasses sparkling wine, ½ bottle wine per person, soft drinks and water), Christmas crackers, and table linen. Prices range from £126-£168 per person excluding VAT.

Based on enquiry patterns, popular dates like December Christmas parties and conference dates fill up quickly. The venue handles multiple enquiries for similar dates, suggesting advance booking is essential, particularly for December events and prime conference periods.
