The Great Hall is perfect for conferences, presentations, meetings, lunches, dinners and AGMs. The space is fully equipped with an automated blackout system, lobby reception area, adjustable lighting, 13ft front projection screen and features a fixed stage and minstrel gallery.




Frequently asked questions

The Great Hall can accommodate up to 260 people for standing receptions and up to 200 people in theatre-style seating for conferences and presentations. For sit-down dining events, the maximum capacity is 80 people for a 3-course meal. The venue cannot accommodate events requiring more than 80 seated dinner guests.

Evening exclusive hire costs £2,500 plus VAT, while day hire ranges from £2,820 to £4,810 plus VAT depending on duration. The Day Delegate Rate package is £75 plus VAT per person (minimum 150 guests) and includes room hire from 9am-5:30pm, LCD projector and screen, Wi-Fi, dedicated event manager, three tea/coffee servings, breakfast pastries, sandwich lunch, and mid-morning snacks.

External caterers are not permitted at The Insurance Hall. All catering must be provided through the venue's approved catering partner. Hot food service requires a minimum of 40 people, and sandwich lunches are available for smaller groups.

Standard AV includes a 4.0m x 2.2m projection screen, ballroom projector, PA system with lectern microphone and two handheld microphones, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The venue features a fixed stage measuring 13.4m x 1.4m and has automated blackout systems and adjustable lighting.

The venue only accepts bookings until the end of March 2026 due to planned renovations in the new financial year. Bookings are not accepted for the first few months of the new financial year until renovation dates are finalized. Specific dates may already be booked, so early enquiry is recommended.

Day events typically run from 9:00am-5:30pm, while evening events can extend until 1:00am. The Day Delegate Rate includes room access from 9am-5:30pm. Setup access and specific timing arrangements should be confirmed when booking, as these may vary depending on the event requirements.

Catering options include Day Delegate Rate packages, bowl food buffets (£40 plus VAT per person for 3 bowls), canapés (£24 plus VAT per person for 6 pieces), and drinks packages (unlimited wine, beer, and soft drinks at £27 plus VAT per person). Hot food service requires a minimum of 40 people, while sandwich options are available for smaller groups.

The venue is suitable for conferences, presentations, meetings, AGMs, corporate training, networking events, and business dinners. The space features historic Grade-II listed architecture with oak panelling and stained-glass windows, making it particularly appropriate for professional and corporate events that benefit from a prestigious setting.

Unlimited drinks packages cost £27 plus VAT per person and include red and white wine, bottled beers, and soft drinks throughout the event. Individual catering items are priced separately, with bowl food at £40 plus VAT per person and canapés starting at £24 plus VAT per person for 6 pieces.

Early booking is recommended as popular dates fill up quickly and the venue has limited availability beyond March 2026.
