Georgian Splendour: A Guide to Events at Asia House

Retaining strong ties between Europe and Asia is the focus at Asia House, which is the leading pan-Asian organisation in the UK. On all matters economic and political, the team vies to independently conduct discussions and communication to keep the two continents closely knit.

The stage for all this work is Asia House, which also doubles up as a stunning events venue. It's been featured on Made in Chelsea; it's hosted a literature festival, hosted by Great British Bake-Off's Nadiya Hussain; and most recently, it was the backdrop for the BBC interview of new boxing star Anthony Joshua.

The draw of the venue for all kinds of events is clear: it's a Grade-II listed Georgian townhouse, equidistant between the bustling, iconic London hubs of Fitzrovia, Marylebone and Soho – meaning transport connections are comfortably straight-forward. Moreover, the design elements – including Regency-style rooms and an elegant winding staircase – are incredibly inviting.

The three Fine Rooms, for instance, lend themselves perfectly to hosting conferences and business events, to cocktail receptions, to weddings (and it's worth noting that the venue holds a wedding licence). These Regency-era spaces are architecturally pleasing, with high, decorative ceilings, polished floors, shimmering chandeliers and marble fireplaces. The vast windows allow for reams of natural daylight to brighten up any event.

The Library space is another that serves as an ideal area for business events. It transforms itself comfortably into a boardroom, and needless to say, AV equipment and in-house catering is second to none. Meetings also won't drag on, since the connected annex space means breakouts and post-workday drinks and dinners can refresh and rejuvenate. And a fun fact: the Library bookshelves were built by the legendary Sir John Soane.

Then there's the purpose-built Gallery space, which is a popular one for art exhibitions, pop-ups, launches and various other creative ventures, with room for up to 70 standing guests. It's truly a balanced blend of contemporary and traditional.

With its rich heritage of diplomacy and cross-continental bridge-building, Asia House is an exciting and fascinating place to hold an event – and this is without even considering the beauty of the space. Most recently, Asia House has been refurbished, meaning the already impressive space is now even more spectacular, with a new reception, new carpets on the winding staircase, and Chiavari chairs that'll add a touch of class to any banqueting event.
