2nd December 2015

The festive season is over, everyone is 'back at the gym' and the weather is awful...but we're feeling optimistic for 2016 here at Hire Space HQ. There's so many amazing venues in London, it's almost too hard to choose - so here are our predictions for the hottest venues for 2016. Enjoy!

1. Twickenham Stadium

The Six Nations are nearly upon us so it would be rude not to include The home of England rugby. Twickenham boasts a huge 7,000 sq metres of flexible event space, within 30 different rooms, designed for anything from a conference to an intimate dinner. Ideal for rugby fanatics, the England changing rooms can be hired for banquets but the stadium also houses a hidden in the form of the cellar, where up to 14 people can dine, surrounded by vintage port and wine - you can even have your wedding photos pitch-side.

2. Dinerama

Shoreditch High Street

Street Feast's Dinerama was a summer hit, and now it's back with a winter twist. Thursday to Saturday, the Shoreditch grub paradise brings foodies to an heated indoor haven with several distinct spaces. The tastiest tacos, bao and BBQ may be on the menu, washed down with cocktails from the lively bars.

3. Bounce

Chancery Lane

Bounce has been serving and smashing to success, expanding to East London and even to Chicago in 2016. The original Farringdon branch hires out spaces and ping pong tables for parties, conferences and team-building events, which can be complemented by karaoke, a cinema screen and fresh pizza.

4. Lee Valley Velopark

As the Olympics come round again we turn to the iconic Olympic Park. 'Unique' is a word thrown around a lot, but it truly applies to this conference space: it's in the middle of the Olympic Park velodrome, where Team GB cycled to gold-medal glory in 2012. Past dos have included ceremonies and exhibitions; for more intimate events, smaller meeting rooms are available.

5. German Gymnasium

King's Cross St. Pancras

This venue was also used in the London Olympics – of 1866. The brand-new restaurant shows its sporty past in its clever décor, with exposed trusses and hooks. Private dinners and exclusive events can feature German delights like veal schnitzel and 'schupfnudeln', which we had too look up, too.

6. Blue Fin Venue

Glittering on the South Bank, this ultra-contemporary venue – which could be from 2026, let alone 2016 – is a dedicated events structure with a theatre and a stunning roof terrace that overlooks St Paul's and the Thames. The signature space, the Wintergarden, is a beautiful, two-storey glass reception room, perfect for a summer soirée.

7. Salters' Hall

Due to make a grand re-entry to the venue scene in early 2016, this Grade-II listed hall is in the final stages of its contemporary refurb, including a pavilion, glazed roof and Secret Garden. Overlooking the stylish London Wall Place complex, the venue still retains its historical charm whilst adding a contemporary feel. Read more in our dedicated blog.
