Tudor House Museum & Garden

The Georgian Room is an historic room with beautiful landscape paintings, overlooking our Tudor knot garden. It would be a memorable location for any business meeting. The Georgian Room is located on the first floor, next to the lift, providing good accessibility and a view around our museum. Look out over King John's Palace, and indulge using our on-site catering facilities.

Say your vows in the 16th Century wood-panelled Banqueting Hall, first built by Sir John Dawtrey. The atmospheric room has centuries of history and is situated at the heart of Tudor House & Garden. The Banqueting Hall is on our ground floor, allowing excellent access. Have your ceremony in front of the large window, while admiring the historic surroundings in venue that is sure to be memorable.

King John's Palace is a unique space offering a memorable location whatever the occasion. Built over 800 years ago, it was a Norman house owned by the Mayor of Southampton, John Wytegod, who was also a merchant. The house was incorporated into Edward III's sea defences and later was used as stables. The roof was removed in the early 20th century, leaving the structure as it is now. The original 12th century windows can be seen in the north and west faces of the building. King John's Palace has access to our garden, designed in a Tudor knot style with traditional herbs and flowers.
