The Chapel has a rich history, nestled in the ancient and beautful Pennine village of Heptonstall above Hebden Brige in West Yorkshire, the Chapel provides a unique venue for any couple to marry. The Chapel operates a completely open-door policy, all couples can marry here and design their own perfect wedding ceremony. You don't need to be a Christian or a church-goes to marry in the Chapel, you don't even need to live in the area. You have completely free choice on the format of your wedding service and can write your own vows. You can include any religion or have a civil ceremony.

About Heptonstall Methodist Church

The world's oldest Methodist Chapel in continuous use, in the ancient village of Heptonstall, Hebden Bridge providing a unique and historic venue for weddings and concerts.

This beautiful Wesleyan octagonal Chapel, which can seat up to 200, was built in 1764 and retains its original interior and great acoustics . The design also makes it an intimate venue for smaller parties.

We welcome all enquiries and work with couples to help them to create a Christian marriage ceremony that is individual to them.
