Built in 1901, it is an extraordinarily atmospheric theatre. A Grade II listed building, the Hackney Empire has spent the last 116 years presenting the arts in all incarnations, from Charlie Chaplin, the BBC and Gilbert & Sullivan to Arcade Fire, Russell Brand and Hercule Poirot not to mention London's No.1 pantomime.
Hugely versatile, the gilded, lofty and gorgeously atmospheric main space can take up to 1635 standing and 1272 seated.
